Fluval Accent Nano Ceramic Bio Media 500g

Replacement specialized ceramic media used for beneficial bacteria colonize to break down toxic fish waste (ammonia and nitrite).

Varying between 2-9mm, these spherical balls are designed to provide maximum surface area even in smaller media compartments.

*Note these are replacement bags for the Accent and don’t have any branding on them (plain plastic bag).

For Biological Media:

Do Not Replace Monthly: Unlike the physical filter cartridges (which trap debris and need monthly changes), ceramic biological media should not be replaced or aggressively washed out with tap water. Doing so will destroy the beneficial bacteria colony and cause your tank to cycle again. 

Rinsing: If it gets clogged with debris over a long period, gently rinse the ceramic rings in a bucket of old tank water (never chlorinated tap water) during a routine water change.
