Dymax Pro-Cube is a biological filter media that has literally changed the conventional way an aquarium runs with it's massive surface area.

Suitable for freshwater, saltwater aquariums and ponds, the Dymax Pro-Cube helps remove ammonia, nitrate and nitrite via a  highly penetrative porous structure providing a primitive living environment for micro-organisms and nitrifying bacteria.

For Biological Media:

Do Not Replace Monthly: Unlike the physical filter cartridges (which trap debris and need monthly changes), ceramic biological media should not be replaced or aggressively washed out with tap water. Doing so will destroy the beneficial bacteria colony and cause your tank to cycle again. 

Rinsing: If it gets clogged with debris over a long period, gently rinse the ceramic rings in a bucket of old tank water (never chlorinated tap water) during a routine water change.
